"Joint Labs - Using synergies for joint innovations" - This was the motto of the first Joint Lab workshop on Monday, 10 Dec 2018 at Fraunhofer-Konferenzzentrum in Potsdam Golm.

The aim was to enter into a dialogue with actors from the knowledge and technology transfer sector and to exchange experiences on the Joint Lab cooperation format. The expectations of the team from the Technologiecampus Golm were exceeded!

We would like to thank all participants for the stimulating input and discussions and all contributors for the successfull event.

Successful 4th innoFSPEC team workshop

From Oct 1st to Oct 2nd, the entire innoFSPEC team came together for the fourth team workshop in Bad Belzig.

On the first day, the team enjoyed a key note talk on galactic archaeology given by Prof. Matthias Steinmetz, director of the Leibniz Institute of Astrophysics in Potsdam. Besides, in separate sessions the innoFSPEC team discussed current research projects and topics such as 3D modeling and printing, on how to design experiments or on static light scattering. And in plenary sessions all participants learned more about cultural diversity and communication in science and expanded their knowledge in proposal writing and funding opportunities.

Exciting topics were discussed, new questions raised and ideas for cooperative projects developed. We are looking forward to the next workshop in order to push this further!

innoFSPEC @ FALLING WALLS LAB in Berlin

Congratulations to our colleague Stephanie Schlappa! She was accepted as one of 18 participants to present at the event FALLING WALLS LAB on September 28th in Berlin-Adlershof. The Lab is the North German qualification round for the FALLING WALLS CONFERENCE - The International Conference on Future Breakthroughs in Science and Society on November 8th & 9th in Berlin. As part of our innoFSPEC tech transfer activities she will present our Joint Labs project in only 3 minutes and provide thereby an answer to the question WHICH ARE THE NEXT WALLS TO FALL? Our fingers are tightly crossed.

Interdisciplinary Conference on Optical Spectroscopy

On June 12, 2018, innoFSPEC Potsdam and Brandenburg Invest (WFBB) together hosted the conference 'Optical Spectroscopy' in Golm. The aim was to shed light on the broad range of different spectroscopic technologies and their applications in the fields of structure, product and process analytics as well as in Biology, Geology, Environmental Sciences and Medicine. Over 60 participants from industry and science exchanged their views and ideas on how to bring the diverse disciplines together and how to develop joint ideas and projects in this context. For more details please go here.

The conference was part of the actitities in the field of Optical Analytics in the Photonics Cluster of the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg (innoBB). Next to Microelectronics, Optical Analytics is counted among the most significant key technologies of the 21st century. At the same time, this technology field, also on a European level, pertains to the five so called Key Enabling Technologies.
